Virtual Family Program: Shining Stars

Online Program

January 7, 2021 10:00am - 10:30am

Gather the family in the comfort of your home to enjoy virtual storytimes and demonstrations of hands-on activities for kids of all ages.

Event Details

Ring in the new year with a reading of Cynthia Rylant’s The Stars Will Still Shine, a book that celebrates the ordinary and wonderful happenings of daily life. Reflect with your child about the things that we look forward to each day and explore some of the magic that we may sometimes take for granted.

Welcome 2021 by creating your own shining stars using colorful pastels and words of hope against black paper to resemble twinkling stars in the dark night sky. The brilliant pastels will produce shining stars for all to see!

Activity materials:

  • Oil pastels or crayons
  • Black construction paper
  • Star template
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • String
  • Q-tip to smudge colors (optional)

Program is FREE to the public.
