At Third Thursdays this summer we invite you to the Bullock Museum for nights of art and music that will allow you to connect more deeply with our special exhibition, The Harmon and Harriet Kelley Collection of African American Art: Works on Paper.
At 6 p.m. join us in the Grand Lobby for a musical performance by R&B singer-songwriter Mélat.
Mélat tells stories of love in all its facets — whether romantic or platonic, beginning or ending — because love is, in her eyes, the only truth. A giant of the Austin R&B scene, Mélat’s unique sound is influenced by her parents’ native Ethiopian music, jazz, and the blues. From love to hardship, success to failure, Mélat speaks to what it means to be a human being simply longing to "be.”
