Prickly Pear Prize
This Prickly Pear Plant has over 70 open blooms, and countless blooms that are yet to open or have already seen their day. What a prize!
EnlargePrickly Pear Bloom
Although there are tons of Prickly Pears all over Texas, this one is quite vibrant in the shadows.
EnlargeClaret Cup Cactus
These Claret Cup blooms are so colorful and the sun shines on them just right. One wonders how they grow so beautifully in this desolate desert terrain.
EnlargeVista at Lost Mine Trail
This is a spectacular picture showing the expanse of the beautiful Big Bend National Park from one of the higher sections of the Lost Mine Trail.
EnlargeCactus Family
I love this family of cactus in Big Bend National Park. It shows so well the ruggedness of this mystical place.
EnlargeAgave with Lone Pink Bloom
I love this picture because the Pink Bloom seems so out of place with the Agave. This was on the Lost Mine Trail at Big Bend in 2010.
EnlargeFuzzy Wuzzy
I had to call this Fuzzy Wuzzy because I never could figure out what type of plant this was. I found it very unique and had to have this picture.
EnlargeRainstorm in the Chisos Mountains
As I was driving into Big Bend I noticed a cloud forming over the Chisos Mountains. As I neared the western entrance to the park the cloud was fully formed and raining.
