Learn the art of American Indian Beading by making a leather beaded keychain.
Event Details
Appreciate the beauty of Indigenous culture, learn the history of beadwork, and make leather beaded keychains with fashion designer and Austin Powwow dancer, Nan Blassingame. All materials are provided. The Teen Workshop series occurs alternating Thursdays throughout the summer for ages 13–18. Enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks.
Tickets are $10 for Bullock Museum Member Youth and $20 for non-members. Class ticket includes Museum admission. Online ticket sales will close on the morning of the event. Onsite ticket sales will be available at the Museum up to the time of the class if there is still capacity.
Family programs provide educational and engaging activities for young Texans and their caregivers. Events are designed to bring families together, spark conversations and provide opportunities for growth and development.
Nan Blassingame is a citizen of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Nations. Through her Austin-based clothing brand, Blassingame creates powwow regalia as well as clothing inspired by her tribal identity.
