Print Page

Terlingua may be famous for its camping attractions today, but in the 19th century, the district became known for its rich deposits of mercury. This miner's hard hat and lamp  were used in the Terlingua mercury mines. The Terlingua District is still one of the largest producers of mercury in the United States.
