High Noon Talk: WWI Diary of Jose de la Luz Sáenz
October 4, 2017 12:00pm - 1:00pm
A first-hand account of the Great War from one of Texas' own.
Held on the first Wednesday of every month, High Noon Talks highlight interesting and often untold topics through this casual lunch-time lecture.
Join Emilio Zamora, Professor of History at the University of Texas, for a talk on the diary of solider José de la Luz Sáenz. A dedicated teacher in South Texas before and after the war, Sáenz’s patriotism, his keen observation and his dedication to the cause of equality make this first-hand account a valuable resource for understanding both the war and Mexican-American communities in the early 20th century.
