About Family Programs

Family programs provide educational and engaging activities for young Texans and their caregivers. Events are designed to bring families together, spark conversations and provide opportunities for growth and development.

About the Artist

Benjamin Sorrell is a multi-disciplinary artist from Corpus Christi. He is a printmaker and fiber artist interested in relief printmaking, textile printing, and visible garment mending.

In 2017, Benjamin's family's history of craft inspired him to become a garment mender, leading to a love of textile art, patching, darning, and Japanese Sachiko stitching. He uses these tools as inspiration and a basis for his art. He advocates minimizing textile waste by moving towards garment maintenance, recycling, and repair.
