National Parks Adventure 3D

Celebrating 100 Years of U.S. Parks

Experience the ultimate off-trail adventure into the nation's awe-inspiring great outdoors and untamed wilderness with the documentary National Parks Adventure, now playing at the Bullock Texas State History Museum IMAX® Theatre. MacGillivray Freeman Films lends its legendary giant-screen storytelling to this action-packed celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the National Park Service.

Filmed in more than 30 national parks across the country and featuring narration by Academy Award-winner Robert Redford, this immersive IMAX 3D film follows world-class mountaineer Conrad Anker, adventure photographer Max Lowe, and artist Rachel Pohl as they hike, climb and explore their way across America’s spectacularly wild and beautiful places – including Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Yosemite and Arches – revealing a tapestry of natural wonders that will inspire the adventurer in all of us. National Parks Adventure celebrates the majesty of our national parks and treasured landscapes while highlighting the importance of protecting them.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of national parks, the Bullock Museum also has produced the exhibition, Journey Into Big Bend, on view through September 18, 2016. Stunning photography, artifacts and reflections of those who have studied, protected, explored and come to love this vast and valued ecosystem are featured, along with a rare fossil cast of the largest giant crocodile ever known, Deinosuchus.
