Join us for an evening celebrating Texas’s longstanding tradition of telling stories through poetic verse. Houston-based performance poet Emanuelee “Outspoken” Bean will perform his one-man show entitled Converse featuring Outspoken Bean. Converse is a one-man show that includes both scripted elements and conversations with audience members. Converse is a funny, blunt journey through Bean’s life using the medium of poetry to explore grief, growth, love and laughter.

Arrive early to engage with the artist at this all ages show.

About Emanuelee “Outspoken” Bean

Emanuelee "Outspoken Bean" is a performance poet, compassionate mentor and dedicated educator who travels the country performing his original works and inspiring young creative minds. He is a Texas Poet Laureate nominee, ranked 9th in the Individual World Poetry Slam 2013, 2nd in collaborative poetry at Group Piece Finals 2013, and 11th at National Poetry Slam 2014.  He started performing spoken-word in 2005. He is currently on the Touring Roster for the Texas Commission on the Arts and serves as the Project Coordinator,  Lead Coach and mentor for Meta-Four Houston, a project under Writers in the Schools' WITS Performance program.
