Texas History Day: Student Contest

Programs

April 15, 2023 10:00am - 4:15pm

Students from all over Texas bring their projects to the state-level history contest.

Event Details

Each year thousands of students, encouraged by teachers and parents statewide, participate in the National History Day program in Texas. On April 13, hundreds of Texas students will bring their projects to be judged at the Texas state-level competition. The winners of this competition will move on to the National History Day competition in summer 2023.

At the Bullock Museum and the University of Texas at Austin, students will present their exhibits, websites, papers, theater performances, and documentaries. While visitors cannot enter the competitions, many of them allow the public to view the projects. At the Bullock Museum, the public can view the exhibit competition from 2:30–4:15 p.m.

Want to get involved in Texas History Day? Volunteers are needed! Do you like history? Do you like young people? Then you can be a judge or a room monitor for Texas History Day! Visit here for more info and to sign up.
