High Noon Talk: Biscuits, The Dole, and Nodding Donkeys
November 6, 2019 12:00pm - 1:00pm
See how the wild politics of yesteryear have shaped Texas today.

Shortly before his death in 2015, historian Norman Brown completed Biscuits, the Dole, and Nodding Donkeys, which picks up just as the Democratic Party was poised for a bruising fight in the 1930 primary. Join the book's editor Rachel Ozanne for a talk on a wild era in Texas politics and this little-known history whose impact continues to ripple at the Capitol.
