Join us for a special Hispanic Heritage Month celebration that features Puerto Rico!

Event Details

Enjoy FREE exhibition admission all day during H-E-B Free First Sundays, held the first Sunday of every month. Activities are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families can explore the Story of Texas through three floors of exhibitions that showcase and tell the history of artifacts from around the state.

Commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month this year by celebrating Puerto Rico! Explore Texas cultures through engaging programs and participate in hands-on activities for kids of all ages. Learn about Puerto Rican culture and create a Puerto Rican folktale vejigante-inspired mask.

Activities:

  • 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Enjoy traditional Puerto Rican dances performed by Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance
  • 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Join Austin Public Library for storytime and hands-on activities
  • Learn about Puerto Rican culture through interactive activities, including a Puerto Rican traditional vejigante-inspired mask craft
