Programs

May 1, 2022 10:00am - 5:00pm

Take care of yourself and others during Mental Health Awareness Month with hands-on activities to ease your mind, body, and soul.

Event Details

Enjoy FREE exhibition admission all day during Free First Sundays, held the first Sunday of every month. Activities are from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Families can explore the Story of Texas through three floors of exhibitions that showcase artifacts from around the state.

Take a seat for a performance by Austin Public Library's Literature Live puppetry troupe at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Join us as we root for Little Peep, a plucky young chick who wants to make the sun come up and goes up against a rooster who's a bit of a bully. Afterward, the puppeteers will pull back the curtain and show you how they create the play, then you can try making a puppet of your own.

Activity details:

  • Get moving and try out some brain regulating activities with Texas Health and Human Services.
  • Integral Care will share aromatherapy techniques to enjoy the museum in a relaxed state of mind and to practice at home.
  • Fuel your mind and body with a nutritious snack and healthy eating tips from Common Threads
