Shafter Silver Ore Specimen
Valuable mineral once mined in west Texas town
Oil isn't the only valuable geological resource found in Texas. In the early 20th century, the West Texas town of Shafter housed six mines that produced millions of ounces of silver. This silver ore specimen came from a Shafter mine.
