Wedding dress worn by María de Jesus Treviño de la Garza Falcón
Wedding fashion at the turn of the 20th century
María de Jesus Treviño de la Garza Falcón's wedding dress was custom-designed and tailored in Laredo, Texas.
María married Francisco Gonzalez Cadena in Jim Wells County in December 1902. A descendant of José de Escandón’s 1747 colony of Nuevo Santander, Falcón came from an established Tejano family. Her silk brocade dress reflects the most fashionable style of the early 1900s.
