High Noon Talk: The Birth of Texas Boomtowns

Programs

January 6, 2016 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Texans followed oil strikes in droves, creating towns almost literally overnight.

Held on the first Wednesday of every month, High Noon Talks highlight interesting and often untold topics through this lunch-time lecture.

During this High Noon Talk, Bartee Haile, author of Texas Boomtowns: A History of Blood and Oil, explores the development of Texas' wild and wooly boomtowns during the first three decades of the 20th century.
