High Noon Talk: Joe the Slave Who Became an Alamo Legend

Programs

March 2, 2016 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Think you know everything about the Alamo? Think again.

Countless books and films have been made about the Battle of the Alamo, but very little attention has been paid to Joe. Joe was the property of Col. William B. Travis, the commander of the Alamo, and he carried the news of the fall of the Alamo to the rest of Texas along with Susanna Dickinson. Until now, very little was known about Joe. Joe's amazing life is finally coming to light thanks to 11 years of research by authors Ron J. Jackson and Lee Spencer White.

Join the authors to hear how they learned of Joe's story and what it took to write the book, Joe the Slave Who Became an Alamo Legend.
