Explore one of the oldest traditions in the state with drop-in family activities celebrating Texas ranching.

Enjoy FREE exhibit admission all day during H-E-B Free First Sundays, held the first Sunday of every month. Families can explore the Story of Texas through three floors of exhibits that showcase artifacts from around the state. Special family programs from 12-3pm combine art creation, exploration stations, and gallery activities.

At January's H-E-B Free First Sunday, learn more about why ranching has played such a big role in Texas.

  • Explore all the elements of a chuck wagon.
  • Try your hand with a lasso, and learn more about the equipment cowboys used on the trail.
  • Discover Texas' most well-known brands and then design your own.
