Evenings Out: Beat the Heat

Programs

July 7, 2015 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Why fight Austin's traffic when you can stay downtown and enjoy happy hour? Evenings Out include trivia, games, music, great conversation, and plenty of Texas food and libations.

What's the best way to beat the Texas heat? Crack open a Lone Star at the Bullock Museum for a night to determine the best Texas food to eat with beer. With over a dozen official state symbols related to food (and an official state cooking implement), Texas is a place that likes to eat well. Grab some friends and join us for a sampling of “classic” Texas fare like chicken fried chicken, creamed corn and Frito pie, plus some more contemporary Texas foods from local vendors. Andy Potter, Owner of Austin Eats Food Tours, will discuss the evolution of city's food culture and raffle off complementary tickets for tours of some of Austin's best eateries.

Donors include:

Burro Cheese Kitchen

Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream

This program is part of the Bullock Museum's Texas Art and Culture Series which is generously supported by Lone Star Beer—the National Beer of Texas.
