Visitor Services
The Museum's Visitor Information Desk is located in the First Floor Lobby. Staff and Volunteers at the Visitor Information Desk are available to sell memberships, answer questions, and provide information about the Museum.
Acoustiguide Audio Tours are available for $2 with the purchase of exhibit admission. Audio tours are available in English and Spanish for the main exhibit area. Audio tours for the visually impaired are also available, free of charge.
Spanish Translation of exhibit text for the main exhibit areas is available at the Information Desk on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Spanish translation is free of charge, however, you will be required to leave a form of identification while it is being used.
An ATM is located on the First Floor, between the Main Lobby and the IMAX Theatre Lobby.
Baby Changing Stations are located in all Museum restrooms. A family restroom is located on the First Floor, between the Main Lobby and IMAX Theatre Lobby in the Accessible restrooms.
Lockers and Coat Room are located between the First Floor Lobby and IMAX Theatre Lobby. The Museum is not responsible for items left in the Coat Room.
First Aid: Contact a staff member in Visitor Services for basic assistance.
Lost and Found is located at the Visitor Information Desk in the First Floor Lobby.
Lost children may be retrieved or reported at the Visitor Information Desk in the First Floor Lobby.
Photography Policy: Effective January 1, 2006, photography and videotaping will not be allowed in the Museum exhibit spaces and theaters to protect the artifacts, the copyright privileges of their creators and lenders, and the safety of our visitors. This policy includes camera phones, camcorders, and still cameras using both film and digital formats. The Museum appreciates your assistance in helping us protect our Texas history for future generations.
Smoking and tobacco are not permitted in any area of the Museum.
Telephones are located on the First Floor, between the Main Lobby and IMAX® Theatre Lobby.
There is no late seating in the IMAX Theatre. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled show time.
The Museum does not rent or provide strollers.
The Story of Texas Cafe is located on the Second Floor, and can be reached via the rotunda stairs or the IMAX Theatre elevators. Admission to the Museum's Exhibits is not required to enter the Cafe. The Cafe offers a variety of food choices, and has indoor and outdoor dining.
The Museum Store is located on the First Floor. Admission to the Museum's Exhibits is not required to enter the Store. The Store features the finest in products about Texas, as well as products made by Texans.
