Marfa, a small town in far west Texas between the Davis Mountains and Big Bend National Park, is famous for more than just its lights, art installations and west Texas vistas. It was the location for one of the most famous movies about Texas. Join us for an evening centered around Giant, the epic film that traces one family through several generations in Texas.

Discussion, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

RSVP FOR THE DISCUSSION

The evening begins with B Movies and Bad History from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. This edition of B Movies, will focus on a movie that is, well, not a B Movie at all. From ranching culture, the oil boom and the tension of racial segregation in Texas in the early 20th century, Giant has plenty of drama to talk about. Join film expert Dr. Charles Ramírez Berg and filmmaker Hector Galán for a discussion of the venerated movie, and explore its impact and the reflections of Texan society that it presents.
