The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum received the first decal for accessible design and construction from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), in conjunction with the Governor's Committee on People with Disabilities (GCPD), A core value of the museum is to have programs and exhibits accessible to all potential visitors and to seamlessly integrate accommodations into the design of the entire building.

Accessible routes throughout the building
Open captioning for all exhibit media
Assistive listening for all audio programs (receivers and printed transcripts available at the information desk)
Audio Description tour of permanent exhibits (available, free of charge, at Ticketing)
Audio Description and RearWindow captioning in the Spirit Theater.
Audio Description and RearWindow captioning in the IMAX Theatre available on some films.
The Spirit Theater, which features special effects in the audience seating, effects are included in the wheelchair positions as well.
An American Sign Language interpreter can be arranged for your visit by contacting Visitor Services. Call (512) 936-4609 or (512) 936-4696 TTY, or e-mail laura.hall@TheStoryofTexas.com at least two weeks prior to your scheduled visit. Groups or individuals are welcome to bring their own interpreter.
