Superman soars in IMAX 3D on the biggest screen in Austin!

Folks from Austin Books and Comics were on hand showing off their cool Superman items and handing out prizes to moviegoers drawn at random during the daytime showings. Then, prior to the 7 pm showing, we hosted a costume contest with prizes for best character look-alike for children and adults!

Following a mysterious absence of several years, the Man of Steel comes back to Earth in the epic action-adventure Superman Returns, a soaring new chapter in the saga of one of the world's most beloved superheroes.

This film, directed by Bryan Singer, is the world's first live-action Hollywood feature to be converted from 2D to IMAX 3D meaning that 20 MINUTES OF THE FILM WILL BE IN INCREDIBLE IMAX 3D! 

During select sequences of the film, a visual cue designed by Singer will indicate when audiences should put on and remove their IMAX 3D glasses.

According to Singer, "The scenes that have been converted into IMAX 3D look, sound and feel absolutely amazing. The magic of IMAX 3D will envelop audiences in this story, enabling them to feel the emotion, drama and suspense in a completely new and unique way."

Superman Returns: An IMAX 3D Experience is showing in the IMAX Theatre of the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum through November 8.

Ticket prices for this feature-length, special engagement film are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors/military and $8 for youth ages 18 and under. Museum Members receive $1 off ticket price. Free membership vouchers, discounts, special passes and other promotions are NOT valid for this film.
