On a distant moon, a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption, discovery and unexpected love -- as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization.
In AVATAR: An IMAX 3D Experience, protagonist Jake Sully is a wounded and partially paralyzed ex-Marine who leaves Earth only to find himself thrust into hostilities on the alien planet Pandora. As an Avatar, a human mind in an alien body, Jake is torn between two worlds in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of Pandora's indigenous people, the Na'vi. Moreover, he falls in love with a young Na'vi woman, Neytiri, a beautiful warrior.
As Jake slides deeper into becoming one of her clan, he finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth, and the Na'vi - forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.

Now, after four years of production, Avatar, a live action film with a new generation of special effects, delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.
