Extreme Mammals - Opening Day

Saturday, November 23, 2013, 12:00 pm -  3:00 pm

Explore the extreme side of Texas wildlife as we celebrate the opening of our exhibit Extreme Mammals: The Biggest, Smallest, and Most Amazing Mammals of All Time. Get an exclusive first look at the most astonishing mammals to roam the Earth. Some with tongues weighing four tons, and others as small as a bumblebee. Meet creatures with gigantic claws, massive fangs and strange snouts. See the largest land mammal that has ever lived, the oldest fossilized bat ever discovered, and the smallest mammal known in the fossil record. Also, discover living and extinct Texas mammals that are part of the Story of Texas at the Bullock Museum in Austin, Texas.

Family and children's activities from noon to 3 pm include: Mammal Trivia, Animal Olympics, Design-a-Mammal and Exploration Stations with touchable mammal specimens. Click here to find out more about Extreme Mammals.
