Administrative Volunteer

Administrative Volunteers assist the Museum's staff with a variety of behind-the-scenes tasks. Volunteers work with a specific department, and they use their organizational and office skills to complete weekly or on-going projects.

Essential Functions (vary according to department)

  • Volunteers perform light administrative work.
  • Volunteers assist with envelope stuffing and mailings.
  • Volunteers assist with filing and data entry.
  • Volunteers help answer the telephone.
  • Volunteers provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and offering information to visitors as needed.

Training

  • Orientation to the Volunteer program
  • Specific task/project training with Museum staff in Department working - hours vary

Desirable Skills

  • Volunteers must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Volunteers must be able to communicate and interact with a diverse group of people.
  • Volunteers must have a friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Volunteers must possess strong customer service skills.
  • Previous experience as an administrative volunteer or an administrative assistant is preferred.
