Administrative Volunteer
Administrative Volunteers assist the Museum's staff with a variety of behind-the-scenes tasks. Volunteers work with a specific department, and they use their organizational and office skills to complete weekly or on-going projects.
Essential Functions (vary according to department)
- Volunteers perform light administrative work.
- Volunteers assist with envelope stuffing and mailings.
- Volunteers assist with filing and data entry.
- Volunteers help answer the telephone.
- Volunteers provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and offering information to visitors as needed.
Training
- Orientation to the Volunteer program
- Specific task/project training with Museum staff in Department working - hours vary
Desirable Skills
- Volunteers must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Volunteers must be able to communicate and interact with a diverse group of people.
- Volunteers must have a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Volunteers must possess strong customer service skills.
- Previous experience as an administrative volunteer or an administrative assistant is preferred.
