11 am to 6 pm.

Venture behind closed doors, out of the public view and experience Texas history through its original artifacts, collections, and locations. Availability on the tours listed below is very limited and reservations are required. Call (512) 936-4649 to reserve your spot.
Back of House Museum Tour
All Member levels welcome!
It's a side of the Museum very few get to experience. Only Members have the opportunity to go back of house to see behind the Museum exhibits. Take a look at the fabrication workshop and learn how exhibits are built. Follow the path of an artifact from arrival at the Museum to display in the gallery. Take a ride on the biggest freight elevator this side of the Mississippi and more!

Behind the Scenes Theater Tour
Ever wonder just how big the projector for the IMAX® Theatre is? Or how they create all those special effects in the Texas Spirit Theater? Now, members can find out with a behind-the-scenes look at the Museum's state-of-the-art theaters.

TEXcursion: LBJ Ranch
Saturday, May 12 - SOLD OUT
Take a day trip to the birthplace of the United States' 36th president Lyndon Baines Johnson. Members will have the opportunity to explore LBJ's childhood home, the settlement founded by his grandparents, and the ranch that the first family called home. Additionally, Members will have a chance to take an exclusive tour of the Texas White House.
The trip will include chartered coach transportation, admission to the Texas White House, and a catered lunch. The fee is $50 for Members and $60 for non-members. Space on this trip is very limited and reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please call (512) 936-4649 for reservations.

The Great Commanche Raid
Tuesday, May 8, Noon
Join Donaly Brice, author of The Great Comanche Raid: Boldest Indian Attack of the Texas Republic and Senior Research Assistant at the Texas State Library and Archives, for a discussion of the relationships between American Indians and early Texas settlers during a period of great upheaval.

NEW Benefit! North American Reciprocal Museum Program
All Official Card-Carrying Texans that have given at the $100 level and higher can receive FREE admission to more than 500 museums across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, through the North American Reciprocal Museum program. In order to receive free admission, according to the program's guidelines, members must have given at least $100 in member dues per year and have the appropriate gold foil stamp on their membership card. To begin taking advantage of this outstanding benefit, please call the Membership Office at (512) 936-4602 to request new membership cards or upgrade your membership to the Hacienda level or higher.
