Our spacious Grand Lobby is truly unique. Upon entering the lobby, visitors are awed by the sight of the beautiful grand staircase hugging the four-story Rotunda trimmed in granite.
On the Rotunda floor, an award-winning, 40-foot terrazzo design depicts an unusual overhead view of a storytelling scene around a campfire.
Just past the Rotunda, guests can dance across Texas - on a 50-foot granite map of the state centered in the Lobby floor.
For larger groups, additional space is available on the Rotunda's second floor landing, overlooking the terrazzo design.

The Museum's Second Floor Lobby and
Story of Texas Cafe are delightful locations for seated groups. Located on the Museum's second floor, the Cafe is adorned with accessories that are pure Texas, including Texas limestone and custom-made, Lone Star-shaped light fixtures. Tables and chairs for up to 118 within the Cafe, plus additional seating on the balcony, are included in the Cafe. Adjoining lobby space may be used for intimate receptions or dinners. This is a wonderful dual space that offers a number of set-up options.

Located on the fourth floor of the Museum, the Boardroom is the perfect place for weekday meetings. The Boardroom is equipped with a high-definition plasma screen, DVD/VCR, and teleconferencing phones. It is easily accessible by elevator. Food service is available during regular Museum hours through Catering by Rosemary or The Story of Texas Cafe.

The Museum offers a number of options to enhance your private event. The Museum's exhibits, Texas Spirit Theater, and Austin's only IMAX® Theatre will provide hours of enjoyment for your guests. You can add any one of these or a combination package for an additional charge to your facility rental. Contact the Events office for pricing and availability.

The Texas Spirit Theater also may be used for lectures and other presentations with prior coordination with the events office.

IMAX Theatre
With a screen six stories tall and seating for 389, the Museum's IMAX® Theatre provides a totally captivating film experience. Museum Exhibits
