TEXpeditions Summer Camp 2010
Adventures for Explorers Ages 7-12

Encounter Texas heroes and legends, natural history, forensic science, archaeology, and more in these five day history adventures while exploring three floors of interactive exhibits. Celebrate Texas stories in the Star of Destiny and Wild Texas Weather special presentations and in Texas:The Big Picture on the six story high screen in the IMAX theatre. Discover how the history of Texas was created and share your experiences using traditional storytelling, multimedia, games, art projects, and more! All camp sessions meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., before and after care is available.

Scholarships Available!

Air & Space Adventure
June 14 - 18
July 12 - 16

Reach for the stars! Campers will explore the science and history of flight, from the earliest kites to the new Orion crew exploration vehicle. Learn what it takes to be a pilot, including how to file a flight plan and calculate fuel needs.  Investigate concepts of aerodynamics, rocketry and human space flight. This camp is Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) aligned. 

Can You Dig It?
June 21 - 25
July 19 - 23

Have you ever wondered what it is like to be an archaeologist in Texas?  Find out in this week long camp.  You will learn from experts how to map squares, excavate and identify artifacts in a mock dig, and even design your own museum exhibit. Get the low down on what is underground while practicing professional conservation techniques.

History Crime Lab
June 28 - July 2
July 26 - July 30

Do you have what it takes to be a part of a crime scene investigation team?  Add new tools to your history detective kit in this five day exploration of CSI techniques.  Learn how to read fingerprints, trace evidence, collect expert testimony, and interpret forensic materials.  You will uncover shocking cases of crime in Texas history by following the clues to answer the question "whodunit?!"
