Exhibitor Frequently Asked Questions

When will I be able to set up my booth?
Exhibitors may arrive to set up their booths beginning at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the fair. Teachers will begin arriving at 10:00 a.m, Have your area ready by 9:30 a.m. During the fair, aisles must be kept clear of exhibit materials, and debris can be disposed of in building trash containers.

 

When should I take down my booth?
The fair will end at 3:00 p.m. and we request that your area is clear by 4:30 p.m.

 

Where will I set up my booth?
Booths will be located on the third floor in the Austin Room. A map of specific booth locations will be published on September 1st.

 

What is included with each booth?
Each booth will consist of one 6' table with a table cloth and two chairs. If you requested extra tables or chairs, or electricity, they will also be at your booth area.

 

How many resources should I bring?
We are anticipating approximately 200 K-12 educators. Please plan accordingly with any resources you wish to hand out so that your materials can be given to as many teachers as possible. Demonstrations and distribution of materials are permitted only within the exhibitor hall. Samples or souvenirs may not be sold, and if distributed, must directly relate to the merchandise displayed in the exhibitor's booth. The Museum will not permit non-exhibitors to canvas, solicit, or distribute literature or other promotional devices during the fair.

 

I am bringing a computer program or other media presentation. Are there noise constraints I should be aware of?
Musical instruments, radios, sound, motion-picture equipment, record players, noise-creating devices, or amplifying systems shall be operated only at a levels that will not interfere with other exhibitors or add unduly to general acoustic inconvenience.

 

Where will the Green Room be located?
The Green Room will be on the first floor in the classroom area. Snacks and meals may be purchased from The Story of Texas Café on the second floor.

 

How many other exhibitors will be at the fair?
We are expecting 65 exhibitors.

 

Will I have access to a loading dock?

Where will I park?
Free parking is available in the lot across the street from the museum.

 

Will I be given a discount for garage parking, museum exhibits, IMAX shows or the café?
We are unable to give a discount at this time.

 

Who should I contact if I have any questions the day of the fair?
Christiana Hanson and other Museum staff will be on-site and available to answer any questions you may have during the fair. If you have questions before arriving please call the museum's front desk 512-936-4649.
