In the Shadow of Giants is a riveting musical portrayal of the Texas Revolution from the fall of the Alamo to the Battle of San Jacinto. Written and performed by native Texan Troubadour Craig Toungate In the Shadow of Giants is an excellent way to bring history alive for your students, and is an exciting new monthly educational program offered on the third Friday of every month. Educator Preview Night

The Museum is pleased to invite educators to two special previews. Come watch our newest immersive film Wild Texas Weather with show times at 6 and 7:45 PM. And enjoy an exclusive tour of our new exhibit A Legacy of Quilts: The Briscoe Center's Joyce Gross Collection with the exhibit curator Kate Adams.
Educators can use the new quilt exhibit to provide their students with creative ways to make connections between math, language arts and history. The Museum's education department will provide activity handouts for use in the classroom that relate to these core areas of study.
Wild Texas Weather is a gale force, immersive theater presentation packed with energy to blow audiences right out of their seats. This immersive experience combines historic and modern footage of severe weather and explores the science behind Texas' unpredictable, extreme weather.
An all new educators guide written by science curriculum specialist Kathleen Crowe will be available FREE for educators. Crowe worked closely with the film producers to connect the guide to the TEKS and all three floors of the Museum exhibits and to the film. The educator guide is TEKS aligned to grades K-5 and 6-12 Social Studies, Science, Math, and Language Arts.
