Looking for rainy day activities for your kids?

Expedition To The Texas Coast: Exploring The Wreck Of The French Ship La Belle provides several interactive games, and a slideshow of images and artifacts from the La Belle shipwreck. Kids can learn about the French in 17th century Texas, the French explorer Robert Rene Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle, and the discovery and recovery of the frigate, La Belle, which sank in 1686, on the Texas coast at Matagorda Bay in the Gulf of Mexico and was found in 1996. Visit the Captain's Desk, explore the story and then bring your kids to the Museum to see the La Belle artifacts and engage in additional explorations.

For teachers there are a variety of lessons and activities appropriate for social studies, language arts, science, mathematics and fine arts.
